Voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) is a protocol optimized for the transmission of voice through the Internet or other packet-switched networks. VoIP is often used abstractly to refer to the actual transmission of voice (rather than the protocol implementing it). VoIP allows users to use regular telephone networks anywhere through any internet service provider, and avoids issues on long distance charges that are normally subject to callers. This latter concept is also referred to as IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband, broadband telephony, and broadband phone.

Voice over Internet Protocol (voip), sometimes called Voice over Broadband, or Internet telephony, is simply a way to use your existing broadband connection to place voice calls over the Internet, using your PC or laptop plus a set of headphones, or a telephone-like handset, instead of using a phone line. voip Tips Skype, Phones, Gizmo, and Ventrilo
live.pirillo.com - I don't use traditional means of communication anymore. I tend to use voip more than anything. I have Ventrilo open pretty much constantly, to communicate easily with my friends and co-workers. Today, I decided to give the Gizmo Project a try, as well.
Nintendo DS VOIP (using svsip)
Click more info ^ Download available at svsip.free.fr You will need a Slot1 card of some kind to run the homebrew and will need to get an sip account (stop asking where to get one in the comments) and configure the applications config to run it. This is an example of the end product. Instructions: Basically, you get a card that goes into the top slot on the ds (also called a 'Slot1 Card') and run the program. I chose an ezflash v because a friend of mine recommended but really almost any Slot1 flashcart would work (R4 is another popular one). Chances are, it will take in a microsd card. You download the DS version of the program from svsip.free.fr and patch them first (These cards require a different patching technique in order to read files from the sd card. It is called DLDI patching and there are many DLDI patchers. Just google it.). ANY PROBLEMS WHERE YOU SEE THE LOGO BUT NOTHING HAPPENS ARE DUE TO INCORRECT DLDI. Then read the readme of the svsip download and configure it with whatever sip account you get. Then just copy all the files to the root of the microsd card. Then you open the launcher (different depending on what Slot1 card you choose) and open the svsip program.
